Three countries working together through Interreg

Sponge is a collaboration of partners from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Sponge is led by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-NL), the Three-Countries Park (3LP) and landscape park Grenzeloos Bocageland, in cooperation with the municipalities of Plombières, Dalhem, Raeren, Welkenraedt, Valkenburg, and the program Waterveiligheid en Ruimte Limburg (WRL).

Together they combine knowledge, governance capacity and regional networks to make the landscape in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine more resilient to drought and flooding. Sponge is co-funded by the European Union.
